Psychological indie horror game

Dark Fracture: Prologue is an indie horror game developed by Twisted II Studio. This game is the introductory chapter of the first-person psychological horror, Dark Fracture. A free, stand-alone game, it will give you a glimpse of what's to come in the full game.

Dark Fracture: Prologue will have you go on a chilling adventure inside a decomposition research facility in the late '90s. Here, you will try to survive the inexplicable events happening around you. Your sanity is the key to survival as you try to solve the mysteries. Be warned:  Don't stay in the dark.

What is Dark Fracture: Prologue?

In Dark Fracture: Prologue, you will enter the world as Edward, a lonely individual working at the research facility. While working on the dreaded midnight shift, a chain of disturbing events happened around him. Edward is already tormented by a tragic past, and these events will draw him closer to losing his sanity. It is up to you to unravel the mystery to save Edward from spiraling even more.

The gameplay provides survival horror elements, where you need to search for key items to help progress through the adventure. There are also physics-based puzzles, where you interact with physical objects and carry or manipulate them to solve the problems. If that wasn't hard enough, you also need to manage your resources carefully to survive longer. You will also need to create decisions that will impact Edward's fate.

As mentioned, your sanity is the key to survival. The disturbing events will hinder your progress and will sap away your resolve. Do all you can to tighten your grip on your sanity. To help you monitor them, there is a Sanity Meter available. However, while it offers a gripping story, the entire gameplay is short. Additionally, it contains scenes that may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.

Should you play it?

All in all, Dark Fracture: Prologue offers an incredibly good experience for fans of the horror genre. The tension-building was nice despite little jump scares. Add in an intriguing premise and an immersive environment, and you have a unique gameplay. There are a few issues with the UI and mouse sensitivity. Nevertheless, it is a good game that will have you excited for the full release.
